frequently asked questions about therapy

  • At this time I do not take insurance. I am in the process of becoming credentialed with Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. My out of pocket rate for individual in person and telehealth sessions is $100 per session and my rate for walk and talk therapy is $120 per session. Please reach out for updated information regarding other services provided. I will update this information as it becomes available.

  • The most important part of therapy is that you feel comfortable with the person you are talking to. There are many reasons you might not feel like a therapist is not a right fit for you such as you don't find that their therapy style is meeting your needs, you don't feel like you can come into sessions being your authentic self, financial reasons, or maybe you just don't vibe with them. This is okay and can be a very normal situation to occur when you're trying to find a therapist that works for you. If, for whatever reason we are not a good fit, I have a list of referrals to share and will make sure you are able to transition to someone that can better meet your needs.

  • My approach is somewhat simple in the sense that I believe that every client is different and has different needs, so my approach to therapy has to reflect that. I am mostly aligned with a Person Centered Approach which allows space for the client to be the expert on their experience and for the therapist to take a backseat role in the therapeutic process. This typically looks like letting the client guide conversations which hopefully empowers the client to take an active role in the responsibility of their therapy journey.
